Striiv gets a 5 star review from me!
For those who know me well, they know that staying active is part of my daily routine. I run daily, dance like a crazed woman from an indigenous tribe during my weekly Zumba adventure and try to fit some Yoga into my weekly schedule. So, when I found out I was going to get the opportunity to try out the world’s first Smart Pedometer courtesy of Striiv, well . . . I did an completely uncoordinated happy dance and waited for my little box of happiness to arrive at my door.
What did I notice first when I opened my package? This device is so tiny. It weighs less than 2 ounces (1.4 to be exact) and the screen is vibrant. Not like those pedometers that the discount stores sell that are dim and reminiscent of old digital watches that were unreadable unless you had that blue indigo light. This screen was as bright as my smartphone. Which makes sense considering this is a smart pedometer.

A techno wonder the Striiv is!

So, how does this work, you ask? The high resolution touch screen makes the Striiv Smart Pedometer easy to use and read. You can set personal goals and challenges that are regulated by your fitness goals. That means that it responds to you as an individual. This pedometer is intelligent enough to know how to get you moving even on your busiest days. The technology it possesses will never miscalculate the steps you took because it cannot tell the difference between when you are walking and when you are riding in a car. Not all pedometers can do that and I should know. I have tried many individuals pedometers as well as pedometer apps on my phone. None have come close.

The Striiv is more social than me – and that’s hard to do!

In addition to the technological supremacy of the Striiv Smart Pedometer, it is also a social device that lets you share your progress with friends and contribute to social change in the world. Yes, you heard me correctly. The Striiv has partnered with various charitable agencies and corporations to encourage you to get moving by transforming your steps into dollars for charity. You can pick one of the charities that is supported by Striiv and once you walk a predetermined amount, Striiv will make a donation on your behalf to that charity. There is no easier way to raise money than my simply moving your feet a little more each day.

The Striiv Smart Pedometer makes exercising fun!

Got friends?

Do you need extra challenges? The Striiv Pedometer also has games that you can play with friends. Remember? I told you this was a social pedometer. You can race friends across the Golden Gate Bridge or up the stairs at the Statue Of Liberty, virtual, of course. Share your results on your social networks like Facebook and Twitter.

You don’t have to choose between exercise and food!

The price of the Striiv Smart Pedometer is reasonable for many budgets, less than $100. I give it 5 stars on price and usability. I don’t like to waste my money or time. I don’t want you to either. I shared my experience with the Smart Pedometer with my friends, both women and men, and a few went out and bought their own. In fact, I have to go very shortly because I have to race across the Golden Gate Bridge to try to beat my friend, Maggie. Two more steps and I would have finished first last week.

  21. the article that talks about the Twins on the airplane (Twin Babies, Arrow and Jasper, Pass Out Goodie Bags on Cross-Country Flight) was amazing! I have twin girls and couldn’t imagine flying with them! I think it was very clever of them to win over the other passengers before the flight even started :) I always have a heart for babies or small children on airplanes but I know most people can’t put themselves in your shoes so, buttering them up with a little sugar and a sweet note is a great idea! (I’ll have to keep that one stored next time we plan a family trip)

  22. I like the feature that connects you with charities. That is awsome!

  23. Shaunda E. says:

I like the games because it makes this pedometer versatile.

  24. What I found so special about this story (aside from those darling boys) is that this couple made an effort to be aware of other people’s feelings and comfort. So often we forget to think about other people. Glad you enjoyed the story!

I love that it has a touchscreen because it make sit much easier to read and use.
